Ticket sales tracking well for Palmerston North match

The return of the Hurricanes to Palmerston North for the first time since 2016 is proving popular with ticket sales tracking really well ahead of the match on March 1.

More than 6200 tickets have been sold to the first home game of the Hurricanes Investec Super Rugby campaign against top Australian side the Brumbies.

The volume of tickets sold so far compared favourably to last year’s match at Napier’s McLean Park when 13,000 watched the Hurricanes beat the Sharks in epic fashion.

One player looking forward to heading home for the clash is powerful midfielder Ngani Laumape who has just signed on to stay with the Turbos and Hurricanes until at least 2021.

“I know there is a bit of a buzz about the game back home because a few of mates are already on to me to get them tickets,” he joked.

“But I know the boys are going to enjoy getting down there after a couple of years away.”

The match comes 23 years since the Hurricanes kicked off Super Rugby against the Blues.

Tickets available by clicking HERE from ticketrocket.co.nz, CET Arena, and are aimed at being affordable for families with adult tickets starting at $20, children from $11.50 and students at $15.
