Manawatu Toyota have recommited as a principal partner of Manawatu Rugby and the Manawatu Turbos for the next two years.
It continues the long-standing relationship between the business and their provincial rugby team which started more than a decade ago.
This year will be their sixth season as a principal sponsor and once again, the Manawatu Toyota logo will take pride of place on the shorts of the Manawatu Turbos, Manawatu Cyclones and other Manawatu representative teams.
Manawatu Rugby Union chief executive Shannon Paku was excited to have such a key business in the Manawatu community back on deck.
“It is fantastic to once again have the support of Debbie and Brendon Hart and the team at Manawatu Toyota,” he said. “The Turbos and Manawatu Toyota share a lot of the same values, especially when it comes to community engagement and teamwork.
“Their commitment to the Turbos plays a key role in our ability to not only resource the Turbos, but to facilitate the community game.“
Manawatu Toyota chief executive Debbie Hart said they have loved being involved with the Turbos, which made re-signing an easy decision.
“The Turbos are one of the biggest sports teams in our region and we have been involved for a long time,” she said. “It is a high profile team that is strongly community focused and it is just something that we think is important to be involved in.”
General manager Brendon Hart said they have loved watching the team continue to produce exciting talent.
“The great thing now is that we see a lot of local boys going through the Turbos and it is a strong pathway for a career. Numerous boys are getting contracts to Super Rugby so it is a good thing to be part of.”
He said supporting the Turbos was a common interest for their staff and their customers.
“A strong part of our client base are keen and passionate about their rugby,” he said.
“A lot of our customers identify with the Turbos so it is quite a big thing for the region,” added Debbie Hart.
