Kiri Kiri and Booth claim big prizes at End of Year Dinner

Antonio Kiri Kiri and Jamie Booth have shared the major honours at the annual Silvester Clark Turbos End of Season dinner. 

Kiri Kiri was named Players’ Player of the Season while Jamie Booth picked up Supporters’ Club Player of the Year. 

Captain Kiri Kiri featured in all but one of the Turbos games in 2018 and was the side’s second leading tackler. 

Booth was a livewire on attack while sharing the halfback responsibilities with Kayne Hammington. 

Hooker Sam Stewart was named Rookie of the Year, centre Rob Thompson won Back of the Year and prop Michael Alaalatoa was awarded forward of the year. 

First five-eighth Jade Te Rure picked up Personality of the Year. 

Cyclones lock Rachael Rakatau won the MVP award for the provincial women’s side. 

Her consistency on and off the field was vital to the team’s first appearance in the Farah Palmer Cup Premiership semi-finals. 

Co-captain Nicole Dickins won Forward of the Year and halfback Kristina sue won Forward of the Year. 

The Manawatu Development XV MVP went to No 8 Alex Hawira, forward of the year was hooker Chris Cairns and back of the year to Ben Werthmuller. 

The Under 19s award went to Griffin Culver (MVP), David Parker (best forward) and Tobias Wickham-Manuel (best back).
