Free entry for junior club rugby players
Manawatu’s junior club rugby players will get the chance to watch their Turbos heroes for free in 2018.
The Manawatu Rugby Union, along with Mitre 10 Mega Palmerston North, have provided every registered junior club rugby player with a free membership for the season.
Manawatu Rugby Union chief executive Shannon Paku said it was important that the future generation of Turbos players all got the opportunity to watch the side in action.
"With help from the Stewart family and their great team at Palmerston North Mitre 10, we are able to offer free memberships to our registered junior rugby players again in 2018,” he said.
“It's important that they get the opportunity to see their local rugby heroes in the flesh and be part of the game day experience.
Paku has memories of watching top level rugby as a child before going to have an impressive professional career including being part of the Super Rugby champion Blues in 2003 and a regular in the Hurricanes in the mid-2000s.
“As a child, watching my childhood rugby heroes playing at our local ground meant I felt part of the team and feed my desire to one day be as good as them".
The free memberships for junior club rugby players are for general admission seating.
They must be have their membership card on them to enter the ground. They do not require a paying adult for entry.
If your child does not have a free membership and you think they should, get in contact with your club’s junior rugby convenor.
