One of the fastest props in provincial rugby has inked a deal with Manawatū Rugby for the 2021 Bunnings Warehouse NPC season.

Jarred Adams, 24, adds depth and x-factor to the Turbos’ front row stocks.

For many Turbos fans the last memory of Adams was the 125kg frontrower bursting through the green and white defensive line and charging 20m up the field only to be cut down inches from the tryline.

That linebreak was not the only damaging carry for the athletic frontrower, who will now look to make a similar impact in Palmerston North.

Adams brings plenty of first class rugby pedigree.

Having been educated at noted rugby production line Wesley College south of Auckland, he played for Samoa at Under 20s before making his provincial debut for Counties Manukau.

He shifted to Auckland, playing 29 games in blue and white.

He also has five Super Rugby caps for Japanese side the Sunwolves.

Earlier this season he spent time in Japan with Munakata Sanix, the same side that returning Turbo Jason Emery played for.

Adams will link up with Te Kawau in Manawatū.

He joins Old Boys-Marist’s Harry Allan, Feilding Yellows’ Tietie Tuimauga, College Old Boys’ Ropate Rinakama and Freyberg’s Joseph Gavigan as props in the Turbos squad.
