Former Turbo halfback Aaron Good is the new Turbos assistant coach.
Good joins with head coach Jeremy Cotter next year and takes over the assistance role from the departing Rhys Archibald, who heads back to teaching in Christchurch.
Good, the current Feilding Old Boys Oroua Senior 1 coach, played 28 games for the Manawatu Turbos between 2006 and 2008 before a head-knock saw him turn his hand to coaching.
The Assistant Coach’s role is full time position with the Union with the job entailing coaching assistance at the community level before tackling the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup in August.
Manawatu Rugby CEO John Knowles said he was delighted with the appointment.
“It’s great to see a coach who has worked his way through the local ranks and now has an opportunity to make his mark at the next level of rugby. We see plenty of potential in Aaron,” he said.
